The University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, Department of Medicine, Division of Endocrinology & Metabolism in partnership with Alberta Health Services, invites applications for a clinical endocrinologist to be based at the University of Alberta Hospital/Kaye Edmonton Clinic.  Located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, the Faculty has been internationally recognized as among the world’s top 50 medical schools and as one of Canada’s premier health-education institutions.

The successful candidate will have an MD degree, or equivalent. They will be eligible to be certification in Endocrinology & Metabolism with the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada.  As well, they will be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA)

Remuneration will be based on the Fee-for-Service (FFS) schedule.

Key accountabilities of the clinical endocrinologist will include, but will not be limited to assessment and management of type 1 diabetes patients participating in the provincial insulin pump program, as well as the care of endocrine patients in the out-patient and in-patient setting. It is expected that the candidate will have significant experience in the management of insulin pumps and/or other advanced technologies for diabetes.

The successful applicant will be expected to apply for a Clinical Academic Colleague Appointment in the Department of Medicine, University of Alberta, which will be considered under a separate process through the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry.
