Covenant Health, Alberta Health Services and the University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, Department of Surgery, Division of General Surgery, invites applications for two General Surgeons with fellowship training in Trauma Surgery. The successful applicants will be based at the Grey Nuns Community Hospital for General Surgery and at the University of Alberta Hospital for Trauma. The General Surgery position at the Grey Nuns Community Hospital will be equivalent to a 0.5 FTE, and the Trauma position at the University of Alberta Hospital will entail 12 weeks of service.
The successful applicants will have a job description which includes a commitment to clinical care delivery, education and research. Remuneration will be on a fee-for-services basis through billings submitted by the physician to Alberta Health & Wellness. The successful candidates will care for surgical inpatients and outpatients, and participate in the on-call rota supporting the Grey Nuns Community Hospital and the University of Alberta Hospital. The entire Edmonton Zone will also be supported through a regional referral program covering Northern Alberta.
Applicants must hold an MD or equivalent with completed training in General Surgery and must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta. This individual must have obtained the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Fellowship in General Surgery or equivalent and recognized training in Trauma Surgery.
