The University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, in partnership with Alberta Health Services (AHS) invites applicants to apply for a Clinical Academic Colleague appointment within the divisions of Pediatric Hospital Medicine and General Pediatrics in the section of Child Protection in the Department of Pediatrics.

The successful applicant will join five academic pediatric hospitalists providing a full spectrum of clinical inpatient general pediatrics and consultative support to Surgical and Pediatric colleagues, as well as two senior colleagues in Child Protection. In addition to clinical care, both divisions are very active in teaching at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and contribute significantly to the fully accredited Pediatric residency, through the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

This position will be comprised of approximately 80% clinical service and 20% academic teaching pursuits. Contributions to education at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels are expected from all faculty.

Interested applicants must hold an MD and must have completed a residency in Pediatrics and fellowship training in Child Protection/Forensic Pediatrics, and be certified or eligible to become a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Remuneration for this position will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and will be based on the income scale of a competitive and highly successful academic alternate funding plan.
