The University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, in partnership with Alberta Health Services (AHS) invites applicants to apply for a contingent tenure track position of Assistant Professor within the Division of Pediatric Dermatology in the Department of Pediatrics.

The successful applicant will join one academic pediatric dermatologist providing a full spectrum of clinical dermatology services in the Edmonton zone. In addition to clinical care, the division is active in teaching at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including mandatory teaching to the dermatology residents.  We have an active basic and clinical science program, collaborating locally, nationally and internationally. We are also involved in several clinical trials regarding novel medications for pediatric skin diseases.

This position will be comprised of approximately 60% clinical service (including clinical teaching) and 40% academic endeavour, this latter comprising both teaching and research. Research can be in any area within Pediatric Dermatology. Contributions to education at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels are expected from all faculty.

Interested applicants must hold an MD and be certified by the Royal College of Physicians and surgeons of Canada in either Dermatology or Pediatrics; moreover they must have completed an accredited subspecialty fellowship in Pediatric Dermatology.  International graduates must be eligible to write the Royal college examination in either Pediatrics or Dermatology; see the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada for more information on various routes of credentialing (http://www.royalcollege.ca/public/credentials/routes). Successful candidate must also be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA).

Remuneration for this position will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and will be based on the income scale of a competitive and highly successful academic alternate funding plan.
