The Faculty of Nursing at the University of Alberta has a Faculty Lecturer position available to provide classroom, seminar and clinical instruction primarily to students enrolled in the French/English Bilingual Undergraduate Nursing program at the University of Alberta. Faculty Lecturers are scholars active in both teaching and service, while contributing to the governance of the faculty and the advancement of the nursing profession. We are seeking individuals with teaching experience and leadership potential who are clinically current and competent in areas of practice such as medical/surgical, mental health and/or community.

La Faculté des sciences infirmières de l'Université de l'Alberta a une position de « Faculty Lecturer » disponible. L’enseignement comprend les classes magistrales, les séminaires et la supervision des stages. La personne choisie enseignera principalement aux étudiantes inscrites dans le programme bilingue (français/anglais) de sciences infirmières. Les « Faculty Lecturers » sont plus que des chargées de cours elles contribuent à l’enseignement, au fonctionnement de la faculté, et à l’avancement de la profession infirmière. Nous recherchons une personne ayant une expérience d'enseignement et un potentiel de leadership. Il est essentiel que la personne soit compétente et à jour dans sa pratique clinique dans un ou plusieurs des domaines qui suivent: la médecine-chirurgie, la santé mentale ou la santé communautaire.  

A Masters degree in Nursing or a related field is required, with a minimum of 3 years clinical practice experience; desire to complete doctoral studies would be an asset. Demonstrated knowledge of both English and French is essential. Applicants must also hold current nursing registration with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Preferred applicants will have previous teaching experience, exceptional interpersonal skills, the ability to work well within a team environment, and proven competency/proficiencies in written, listening and verbal communication in both official languages.

This is a full-time, 3-year, rolling term appointment (9 or 11 months per year) with a comprehensive benefits package which can be found at: Salary will be commensurate with experience in accordance with the Contract Academic Staff: Teaching Agreement (CAST).
