We are seeking an outstanding Nurse Practitioner, leader, educator, and researcher to serve in the role of Director, Health Services for a Nurse Practitioner Led demonstration project. The University of Alberta, Faculty of Nursing and the Seniors Association of Greater Edmonton (SAGE; http://www.mysage.ca/) have partnered to develop and operate an innovative model for person-centred health and social services for seniors to be delivered by an inter-professional team led by nurse practitioners.

The program, Collaborative Community Care (C3) for Seniors, is expected to provide access to health care services for up to 5500 seniors, while fully integrating SAGE’s existing social services and life enrichment programming. The model is unique in its focus on student learning, evaluation, inter-professional practice, and the engagement of seniors.

The successful candidate will be hired to a continuing appointment as a Faculty Lecturer under the Contract Academic Staff: Teaching Agreement, or the most current version thereof.  The nature of the Director role will involve a secondment from the candidate’s regular University appointment to SAGE Seniors Association for a specified period of time to plan and implement the program.  

A minimum of Masters degree in Nursing is required. A PhD is preferred. Applicants must hold current registration as a Nurse Practitioner with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA).  Preferred applicants will have previous teaching experience, leadership abilities, 5 years of progressive leadership experience, exceptional interpersonal skills, the ability to work well within a team environment, and proven competence in written, listening and verbal communication.
