Tenured or Tenure-Track Faculty Position - Operations Management

The Department of Accounting, Operations, and Information Systems at the Alberta School of Business, University of Alberta, invites applications for a full-time tenured or tenure track position in operations management with an emphasis on business analytics and big data starting July 1, 2017.  Interest in management information systems is an asset.  This competition may be used to fill more than one position.

For an appointment at the assistant professor level, candidates must have, or be close to completing, a PhD in an appropriate field (such as operations management, management services, operations research or industrial engineering), with demonstrated potential to publish top-level research and achieve teaching excellence; appointment in the latter case will be contingent upon the completion of the PhD by an agreed-upon date. Appointments at a more senior level (Associate or Full Professor) may be considered depending on qualifications and experience.  For an associate/full professor appointment, candidates must have a PhD in an appropriate field (such as operations management, management services, operations research or industrial engineering),  have a reputation for making high quality contributions to top operations management journals and provide evidence of teaching excellence. Proficiency in English is required.

The successful candidate will conduct research directed at top tier operations management journals, take advantage of external research funding opportunities, teach in our undergraduate, Masters, and PhD programs, supervise graduate students and contribute academic service commensurate with level of appointment. The Alberta School of Business has an energetic PhD program and the successful candidate will be expected to play an active role in its continuing success and development.
