The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, University of Alberta, seeks an accomplished investigator to join our Faculty (at a rank commensurate with their scientific credentials). The successful applicant will be a part of an innovative program that offers a highly collaborative environment for both fundamental and translational vision research and builds on inter-departmental strengths in neurobiology, developmental biology, vascular biology, and molecular genetics of vision.
We are seeking an outstanding scientist with a Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D., who has a significant track record of accomplishment and a well-established independent research program in an area of vision science. The applicant is expected to have a competitive publication record of original peer-reviewed research, and an established, independent, and extramurally-funded research program in vision research. Applicants must also provide evidence of their commitment to multi-disciplinary collaborative research and excellence in teaching and mentoring at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The successful applicant will receive a competitive recruitment package with newly renovated laboratory space, and support from a productive network of vision scientists.
