The University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, Division of Critical Care Medicine, in partnership with the Clinical Department of Adult Critical Care, Alberta Health Services, invites applications for an Intensivist - Clinical Scholar (Locum) to be based at the Walter C. McKenzie Health Sciences Centre of the University of Alberta Hospitals, along with coverage at other hospital sites in the Edmonton Zone.

The Department of Critical Care Medicine, Edmonton Zone provides tertiary critical care services for the population of Edmonton, northern Alberta and parts of western Canada. The DCCM is one of the largest integrated Departments of Critical Care Medicine in Canada with 116 multisystem, neurosciences and cardiovascular critical care beds. Alignment with the academic Division of Critical Care Medicine, University of Alberta facilitates excellence not only in the provision of clinical care, but also teaching and research.
The successful candidate will have a Intensivist - Clinical Scholar (Locum) position with Alberta Health Services. The successful candidate will also be registered in a graduate program. Preference will be given to students registered in a program at the University of Alberta, pursing studies that will be relevant to critical care medicine. The supervisor or co-supervisor must be from the Division of Critical Care Medicine, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, University of Alberta.
The successful candidate will be Canadian trained and certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada with an MD, FRCPC or FRCSC, possess a specialist certificate or equivalent in Critical Care Medicine, and be eligible for licensure with College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA).
Remuneration will be with Fee for Service billings within critical care with up to 8 weeks of clinical service within the Edmonton Zone.
