The Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Alberta, in partnership with Alberta Health Services and Covenant Health in Edmonton, Alberta, invites applications for a Staff Anesthesiologist (0.5FTE) to be based primarily at the Grey Nuns Community Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta.
Located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, the Faculty has been internationally recognized as among the world’s top 50 medical schools and as one of Canada’s premier health-education institutions. Alberta Health Services is Canada’s largest and only provincial health region providing services for a population of over 4.2 million people.
Covenant Health is Canada’s largest Catholic provider of health care, with 22 Catholic facilities in 14 communities across Alberta. As a major provider in Alberta’s integrated health system, Covenant Health works with Alberta Health Services and community partners to positively influence the health of Albertans through a broad range of programs and services in our hospitals, health centres and continuing care centres.
The successful applicant shall have certification in Anesthesiology with the Royal College of Physicians of Canada and be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta. Additional training in regional, acute pain, and obstetrical will be considered an asset but are not essential.
The successful applicant will be expected to apply for a Clinical Academic Colleague Appointment in the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine and be willing to be involved in resident teaching and clinical research facilitation. Remuneration will be based on the Fee-for-Service (FFS) schedule.
