The University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, Department of Family Medicine, is seeking a family physician to be academic coordinator of training for International Medical Graduates (IMG’s).

Reporting to the Postgraduate Medical Education Program Director, the Coordinator assists in resident support, selection of candidates, and acts as a liaison for IMG residents in the family medicine residency training program and during the externship period, representing the interests of IMG trainees within the department. The position also takes a key role in facilitating faculty development related to the training of IMG’s.

Required qualifications for the position are MD with certification by the College of Family Physicians of Canada as well as an interest in IMG education and advocacy. MD applicants must be licensed within the province of Alberta and should have or be eligible for a clinical appointment with the Department of Family Medicine.

This position is 0.2 FTE, at an average of 2 half-days per week. The term of the appointment is two-years with annual reviews.
