The Department of Sociology at the University of Alberta invites applications for a Contract Instructor in Statistics and Methods (eight-month teaching contract starting September 1, 2017). The ideal candidate will also be able to teach the sociology of health, family, aging, or death and dying. The instructor will teach six semester-long courses (3 in fall, 3 in winter) including undergraduate courses in introductory statistics and research methods.

The successful candidate will become part of a vibrant teaching/research community and will have the opportunity to shape the courses to be taught.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Sociology or closely related degree completed by August 31, 2017. Applicants must have successful teaching experience in statistics and methods; evidence of potential to teach health, family, aging, and/or death & dying will be considered an advantage.

Salary will be commensurate with experience in accordance with the Contract Academic Staff: Teaching Agreement (CAST).
