The Department of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences at the University of Alberta invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in Geometric Functional Analysis and related areas.  All outstanding researchers in Functional Analysis (or in any area of research) that may be relevant to Geometric Functional Analysis are encouraged to apply. An appointment at a higher level may be possible under exceptional circumstances.  Preferential consideration will be given to applicants whose research is of interest to the members of the Functional Analysis group. The Department offers an excellent research environment with a normal teaching load of two-and-a-half courses per year. 

The successful candidate will establish his/her own research program, supervise graduate students and teach at both graduate and undergraduate levels.  Applicants will have a PhD degree or international equivalent, demonstrated accomplishments and outstanding promise in research as well as a strong commitment to graduate and undergraduate teaching.
