The Faculty of Kinesiology, Sport and Recreation, Campus & Community Recreation unit is currently seeking a Customer Service Centre Associate.  This position is global in nature and involves working with all areas of the faculty that have or plan to have financial transactions through the Recreation Management Software (RMS) system, such as registrations, memberships and ticket sales as part of their daily operations. The Customer Service Associate provides support to the daily financial operations by handling front-line customer service issues, maintaining client expectations and processing financial transactions. There is an expectation to be a contributing member of the Campus & Community Recreation team by providing recommendations for faculty wide communication and administrative activities. The Customer Service Centre administers over $6.5 million transactions and is a high volume area (60+ hours per week of customer service) that also provides information on sporting events, recreation programs, and online access to the service units.


  • Provides accurate and professional frontline customer service (80% of work hours) in a high volume and fast paced environment
  • Works daily with the RMS system to process registrations, input data, and complete monetary transactions
  • Maintains a working knowledge of RMS modules for the efficient delivery of customer service
  • Responsible for generating data reports
  • Assists with the Activity Registration internal website
  • Provides conflict resolution related to customer service delivery when Supervisor is not available
  • Assists with ongoing staff training
  • Maintains a working knowledge of all programs/services available within the Faculty of Kinesiology, Sport and Recreation service units and centers
  • Provides support to athletics ticket sales
  • Under the supervision of the Customer Service Centre Supervisor, complete daily cash handling, reconciling and preparing of weekly cash deposits
  • Assists in ensuring that all standard documented financial operating procedures are followed by the Customer Service Centre staff
  • Provides coverage in the absence of the Customer Service Centre Supervisor including but not limited to staff oversight and producing required reports


  • Minimum of High school diploma is required
  • Experience working with a Recreation Management Software System is required
  • Experience working with Intelligenz Recreation Management Software is preferred
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment
  • Minimum one year experience in a front-line customer service role is an asset
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR
  • University of Alberta Supervisory Development Training on Environment, Health and Safety will be required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, accuracy and attention to detail skills
